Andhra Pradesh abbreviation A.P. is one of the 28 states of India, situated on the country's southeastern coast. It is India's fourth largest state

by area and fifth largest by population. Its capital and largest city is Hyderabad. Andhra Pradesh is bordered by Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Orissa in the north, the Bay of Bengal in the east, Tamil Nadu to the south and Karnataka to the west

According to the Planning Commission of India, in the financial year 2011-12 the state was second in nominal GDP, and in GDP per capita it ranks fourth.Andhra Pradesh GDP in financial year 2011 was 5,67,636 crore (US$123.56). It is historically called the "Rice Bowl of India". More than 77% of its crop is rice; Andhra Pradesh produced 17,796,000 tonnes (19,616,732 short tons) of rice in 2006.Two of the mega cities of the state Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam were listed among the top 15 cities contributing to India's overall Gross domestic product.

Andhra Pradesh has the second-longest coastline of 972 km (604 mi) among the states of India. Two major rivers, the Godavari and the Krishna, run across the state. The small enclave (30 square kilometres (12 sq mi)) of Yanam, a district of Pondicherry, lies in the Godavari delta in the northeast of the state. The state comprises four regions: Telangana, Coastal Andhra, Uttarandhra, and Rayalaseema. The state's most populous cities are Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, and Warangal (2011 census).

The primary official language of Andhra Pradesh is Telugu and the co-official language is Urdu. Other languages often spoken in the state include Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada and Oriya.
On 1 November 1956, the States Reorganization Act formed Andhra Pradesh by merging Telugu-speaking areas of Andhra State with the already existing Hyderabad State. The Marathi speaking areas of Hyderabad State merged with Bombay State and Kannada speaking areas were merged with Mysore State.

About Governor
Shri Justice S. Abdul Nazeer was born on 5th January, 1958 in Beluvai, Karnataka. He studied law at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Law College, Mangalore.

Shri Justice Nazeer enrolled as an advocate on 18th February, 1983. He practiced for 20 years at the Karnataka High Court and other courts in Karnataka.

Early Life and Education:

Career as a Judge:

In 2003, he was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court and next year he became a Permanent Judge. On 17th February, 2017 Shri Justice Nazeer was elevated to the Supreme Court.

Appointment as Governor:

After his retirement, Shri Justice Nazeer was appointed as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh on 12th February, 2023. He assumed charge as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh on 24th February, 2023.

Tenure as Supreme Court Judge:

Shri Justice Nazeer retired on 4th January, 2023 after serving almost 6-year term at the Supreme Court (2017-2023). During his tenure, Shri Justice Nazeer authored a large number of judgments.

The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh is the chief executive of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. In accordance with the Constitution of India the governor is a state de jure head but de facto executive authority rests with the chief minister. Following elections to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly the state governor usually invites the party with a majority of seats to form the government. The governor appoints the chief minister whose council of ministers are collectively responsible to the assembly. Given that he has the confidence of the assembly the chief minister term is for five years and is subject to no term limits.
Since 1956 Andhra Pradesh has had 17 chief ministers A majority of them belonged to the Indian National Congress party. The longest-serving chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu from Telugu Desam Party held the office for over thirteen years in multiple tenure. N. Chandrababu Naidu is also the first chief minister of Andhra Pradesh after the state bifurcation in 2014. The Indian National Congress Kasu Brahmananda Reddy has the second-longest tenure and the Telugu Desam Party founder N. T. Rama Rao the second actor to become the chief minister in India has the third-longest tenure, while N. Bhaskara Rao from same party has the shortest tenure only 31 days. One chief minister Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy of the Indian National Congress party later became the president of India. while another P. V. Narasimha Rao of the same party later became the prime minister of India. There have been three instances of president's rule in Andhra Pradesh most recently in 2014.
