has been appointed on the post of election commissioner,the post which
was left vacant by Shri T S Krishnamurti after he got appointment as the
Chief Election Commissioner to the country.

The UP government has appointed Amitabh Bachchan as its Brand Ambassador.
This step was taken to raise the level of industrial Development in the
State. Along with Amitabh, Anil Ambani (Reliance), Godrej Group & Sahara
Group are also giving their hands to the UP government in this operation.

Award to Swami Chinmayanand
Swami Chinmayanand, a politician-turned hermit; working on the post of
Central minister of state for home, was honoured with 'Millennium Award'
by 'The Centre for Global Studies' a well-established organization based
in America.
For the first time, the Award has a political recipient for his peace-making
efforts & Social works.

& Sanskrit-scholar Pro. Govind Chandra Pandey will be given the
reputed Saraswati Samman for the year 2003. The award known for being the
biggest Sahitya award considering award-money will be given to him for his
Sanskrit verselet 'Bhagirathi.'

Kamleshwar
For his celebrated novel 'Kitne
Pakistan' the acclaimed writer Kamleshwar was honourd with Sahitya Academy
Award by Shri Padambhushan Gopichand, President, Sahitya Academy. The
Rajasthani writer (F) Santosh Maya Mohan is the youngest author to get
this prize.
